Google Instant

Google introduced the new search service called as Google Instant. How does it differ from Google’s current search service? Is this really something or just a gimmick? Here I summarize about the Google Instant.

You get live search suggestions as you type out a query. This means that until now Google was providing a list of keywords when you typed something in the search box but now on the site itself displays a live updated results page.  

MyTake: We know that Google’s two third of revenue comes from organic search advertising (Adwords). Hence Google may want to redefine the online searching to get more profit through advertising. Let us see whether this will be a great hit or a flop like Apple’s ping?

Apple’s iPhone 4 Woes

Until now Apple was quite reluctant to listen the agony of iPhone 4 users, but only after loosing 20% of sales in US they are willing to acknowledge the problem. I and my friends do use iPhone 4 and we have two major issues with it.

1.The Antenna – I personally don’t like the antenna’s design at all. It is weird and uneasy to use.

2.Carrier – How come iPhone 4 is only available on AT&T? I would like to switch my carrier from AT&T to Verizon if it is available on it.

MyTake: I think Apple do realize there losses but actually iPhone is selling like crazy in international market (11 million for this quarter). And that is what making them to feel SMUG!

Game Center Social Hub For iPhone

Lady’s and Gentlemen here comes the 4.1 update for mobile operating system. It is loaded with Game Center social hub for multiplayer game fans.  The Game Center has special features like

 -   Invite friends to join multiplayer games on the internet and play with them by automatic match making. 

-  View leaderboards and achievements integrated with Game Center.

MyTake: As a game lover I see Game Center a quantum leap in mobile gaming. Now I can invite my friends from around the world and play games with them. No worries about bugs and Bluetooth connectivity. You can’t miss this!

XBOX

Microsoft will launch Xbox 360 bundle in November of this year. Xbox 360 will have all the features that Microsoft promised 5 years back in 2005. Here are some of the salient features that I found.

1. Very frugal motherboard and an integrated CPU/GPU/eDRAM chip.

2. Paired with Newly integrated 802.11n console, USB 2.0 ports and a built optical audio port.

3. 250 GB of hard drive (proprietary), slimmer chassis, touch - sensitive power and eject buttons.

Let’s hope that Microsoft is able to deliver on their promise!

MyTake: Above mentioned features are quite impressive. However there is no incentive to upgrade if you already have an Xbox 360 (Like I Have One). So you have to pay $399. Folks! I wish to continue gaming with my present Xbox 360, it is unwise to spend another $399. I had enough of Xbox gaming!
